Teargas and live bullets have been fired to quell a protest by opposition youths in Najjanankumbi this afternoon.
According to sources, the police moved in to stop a move by the FDC presidential candidate Dr. Kiiza Besigye and the party leadership from announcing parallel results.
Reports reaching our desk indicate that the party had its own tally centre at their head offices on Entebbe road, where they had assembled international media to announce results.
The results were set to be read out by Ssemujju Nganda, the party spokesperson. According to their results, Dr. Besigye is leading in the race.
This forced police led by Felix Kaweesi, the Director Human Resource Development to lead a group to the opposition offices, but a dialogue failed, resulting into running battles.
Meanwhile, Incoming reports indicated that Besigye, Mugisha Muntu and Amb Birigwa have been arrested
