Protests have erupted in Kasangati after the high court recalled FDC ironman Dr Kizza Besigye’s case file from the Kansangi Grade One Magistrate’s court.
The magistrates’ court before Magistrate Prossy Katushabe had announced 10:00am this morning as the ruling time on whether police should vacate, or remain at the Col’s home.

Besigye’s supporters however lost their cool, when news came in saying the file had been recalled, and the case was a flop. Police has engaged them, and the area looks like a war zone.
Protesters are carrying placards written on Dr. Besigye is the President of Uganda, demanding the release of their leader.
Besigye’s lawyers led by David Mpanga are calling for his immediate release from house arrest. The FDC presidential candidate dragged the Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura, and the commander in charge of the siege Andrew Felix Kaweesi to court demanding his release from the long time house siege.

Prosecution was represented by Deputy DPP, Caroline Nabasa, who argued that it was not right for the same case to be heard by a grade one magistrate at the same time it was before the High court.
