Minister for Youth, Balaam Barugahare, has issued a stern warning to Ugandan artists who maintain dangerous gangs, stating they will soon be arrested and denied bail.
The warning follows the ongoing investigation into musician Patrick Mulwana, popularly known as Alien Skin, over alleged involvement in the death of a local dancer who was buried in Mbale last week. This incident has sparked public outrage and calls for the arrest of the "Sitya Danger" hitmaker.
In an interview with a local television station, Minister Barugahare stressed that many artists are already under serious investigation.
"I am sending a warning to artists with gangs. Police is investigating those alleged to have been involved in killing people, whoever is arrested don't call on my phone. I want you to be arrested and without receiving bail, stay warned," he declared.
The Minister emphasized the need to control these gangs before they cause further harm, asserting that they pose a significant danger not just to themselves but to society at large.
His statement sends a clear message that the government intends to crack down on lawlessness within the music industry.
