
Police in Soroti say they are stuck with a decomposing body of a woman who succumbed to an accident on Monday morning on Amuria road.
The deceased, only identified as Rachael, was among 12 other traders who died on spot at Alomayin swamp along Alakaituk-Amuria Rd in Amuria district.
A Fuso registration number UBA 670V was carrying the market vendors when it lost control and overturned killing 12 passengers and injuring 6 others.
The deceased’s bodies were rushed to Soroti Regional Referral Hospital where it still lies unclaimed at the Soroti City mortuary.
Oscar Gregg Ageca, the East Kyoga Regional Police Spokesman, says that the bodies of the other victims were identified by relatives and conveyed to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital on Monday evening for postmortem.
Ageca says they have failed to establish the full name or home of the last victim since the survivors of the accidents left for their respective homes.
