Musician Joshua Baraka has expressed frustration with fellow artists who constantly critique others instead of focusing on their craft.
Speaking out, Baraka questioned why musicians feel the need to comment on every issue, especially regarding other artists’ careers and influence.
“Why don’t you, as a musician, just keep quiet and do music? If you are an artist, make art—let it speak,” he said.
The singer criticized what he described as a shift from music to public relations battles in the industry.
“Music has become PR, and I’m tired. We should all go back to the studio. Enough is enough,” he added.
While acknowledging that everyone is entitled to an opinion, Baraka suggested that not every thought needs to be made public.
“Do you have to have an opinion on everything? Let’s leave some of these things for listeners to debate,” he noted.
He thinks that artists should prove themselves through their music rather than words.
“Just convince us with your music… anyway, let me also go back to the studio,” he said.
