Esom Music School Launches Band To Rival Afrigo

There are many musical bands in Kampala, but only a few stand out. Afrigo band which comprises of artistes like Moses Matovu, Joanita Kawalya and Rachel Magoola, is one that has always stood tall. Afrigo has inspired the formation of many bands, although some never weather the storms in the music business. They soon vanish.

Now, a new band has emerged, and it promises to rival Afrigo or that’s what members are expecting.

This band is called, Esom Music band. It is an outfit birthed by students of Esom Music School, and has been singing at many occasions of late. Daniel Kiyegga,  the school’s Director says, it will be launched officially in the next coming weeks.

Asked how they plan to stand out, Kiyega, said, “We have recruited the best team of instrumentalists, singers, and everyone needed to create a splendid band. You know, we are an excellent school and we cannot fail with a band. Music is our forte.”
