In many African settings, parents tend to dictate career choices for their children, often prioritizing money over all else. This seems to be the route musician Haruna Mubiru has chosen to take with his own children.

Speaking in an interview with Spark Television, Mubiru explained that he does not want his children to pursue music as a career. He says they should look for other careers outside of music because it is very stressful, and he doesn't want them to go through the same struggles he did.

The singer says music is a good thing, but he would not advise his son or daughter to join the music industry because it is "deadly and dangerous."

"I don't want my children to pursue music. They should consider other career choices because it's not all roses on this side. It's hard and a struggle, and I would not advise my son or daughter to take on music," he explained.

Haruna Mubiru believes children should be allowed to make their own career choices but should be advised on the best path to pursue.
