Singer and producer Daddy Andre has taken credit for shaping the fast-rising success of Elijah Kitaka, one of Uganda’s most promising music talents.
Elijah Kitaka has been on an impressive run, consistently releasing hit songs for nearly two years — a transformation Daddy Andre says is partly due to his influence and production expertise.
Speaking in a recent interview, Andre revealed that before their collaboration, Kitaka’s music lacked direction, but things changed after he guided him to explore a different sound and genre.
“The twist I gave Elijah Kitaka is taking him places. Everyone is now enjoying his music — he gained momentum. That’s how good I am with production. I gave him a new musical direction,” Andre said.
He emphasized that a great music producer must go beyond creating beats and writing lyrics, and instead understand how to match genres with audiences to achieve lasting impact.
In the same discussion, Andre heaped praise on Jeff Kiwa, describing him as Uganda’s best executive producer.
“He’s the best at what he does. Jeff Kiwa has consistently delivered over the years because he truly lives and breathes music — he’s a real fan,” Andre added.
