Veteran singer Maureen Nantume has opened up about why she prevented her daughter from following in her footsteps and joining the music industry.
Nantume revealed that her daughter had long expressed interest in becoming a musician just like her, but she completely refused to let her pursue that dream.
The “Nkuweki” hitmaker explained that, despite her love for music, she doesn’t want her children to go through the same challenges she has faced in her career.
“I stopped her from doing music. There are too many disturbances and hardships. I don’t want any of my children to go through that — it’s a terrible industry,” Nantume said in an interview.
Having spent over 15 years in the entertainment industry, Maureen Nantume says she knows the dark side of showbiz and wants her daughter to focus on other professions instead.
