Gospel singer and former politician Judith Babirye is set to return to Uganda next year to celebrate two decades in the gospel music industry with a major concert in Kampala.
Although she now lives in Canada, Babirye has remained connected to Uganda's gospel music scene and continues to minister to her fans.
During a phone conversation with Pastor Wilson Bugembe, the celebrated singer confirmed that she will return to the Pearl of Africa in 2027 to mark her 20-year music journey with a special concert.
While she did not announce an official date or venue, Babirye revealed that the concert is likely to be held at either Kampala Serena Hotel or Lugogo Cricket Oval.
"I am coming next year (2027) as a must. The concert is likely to happen at Serena Hotel or Lugogo Cricket Oval," she explained.
She added that more details, including the official date and venue, will be announced in the coming months.
The announcement comes shortly after gospel singer Joseph Ngooma staged a successful concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval, further highlighting the growing popularity of gospel music events in Uganda.
