Judith Nalugwa, a vision group reporter who was recently allegedly punched by minister without portfolio, Eng. Abraham Byandala has withdrawn the case.

Judith had filed a case against the shameless minister at the Jinja police station under file SD 35/23/03/2016 OFF; ASSAULT, but later withdrew it under unclear circumstances.

Appearing on a local TV (NBS) this morning, the Information minister Maj. Gen. Jim Muwhezi said no action should be expected from government, since there was no case against the mafia Byandala.

“If he did punch her, it was wrong and I am sure the lady knows what to do. And my brother Byandala should apologize to the lady, it’s wrong. Both him and the lady know what to do, she can of course take him to court,” Muwhezi said.

Asked if Byandala should be forced to resign, Maj. Gen Muwhezi said; “Resignation is a personal decision accepting that what I did is wrong and in interest of my government, I should resign, it’s his decision. Yes it should concern government, but there is no complainant, they could have been joking. If she maintained that she was punched, government would have had interest.”

He also asked the aggrieved reporter Nalugwa to write to the government in case she feels need for help, but there is absolutely nothing they can do to help her, unless there is a complaint.

Minister Byandala is currently on trial over the twenty four billion shillings (UGX24Bn) Mukono-Katosi road scam.
