Burahya county Member of Parliament, Margaret Mugisa Muhanga says the opposition in Uganda is the reason the ruling NRM is not performing to its expectations.
Appearing on NTV on the spot last evening, Margaret lashed at her colleague from FDC Salaamu Musumba for not pushing the government hard enough to deliver necessary services to Ugandans.
She says the opposition is stuck with fighting on the streets of Kampala leaving the villages where services are mostly needed behind. Hon. Muhanga says Museveni is still strong in villages, thanks to the incompetence of the opposition.
“Opposition lacks focus. If you fight government, propose something that will help. FDC, your own president Mugisha Muntu warned you to leave the city and go to the village but you didn’t listen. Museveni is still strong in villages, you should take there your campaigns” says Muhanga.
She believes the city has all services ranging from energy, water, banking systems and institutions, while all this lacks in villages. She says it is the work of the opposition to identify such weaknesses and pressure the government to act.
On the other hand, Musumba said Uganda’s problem isn’t necessarily the opposition. She claims Ugandans in rural areas are suffering because the government decided to spend money buying fake small condoms instead of food and medicine for poor Ugandans.
Musumba suggests that the country goes back to the drawing board to find a fresh solution; otherwise Uganda is headed for doom.
“President Museveni should stop talking and start acting. Stop importing condoms to satisfy needs of adults but buy food, clothes and medicine for young ones who are dying in villages.
