High court in soroti has this morning ejected the Serere woman member of parliament Hellen Adoa (NRM) from the house after her rival FDC’s Alice Alaso petitioned the February 18th elections on grounds of voter bribery and election malpractice.

Alaso accused Adoa of distributing cheap products to voters including sugar, salt, soap and many other items in the name of being elected.

Alaso lost to Adoa after polling 32,651 against the latter’s 48,762.

In today’s judgment delivered by Soroti Chief Magistrate Ruth Nabasa on behalf of Justice David Wangutsi, court declared that Alaso’s side adduced enough evidence of noncompliance with electoral laws by the Electoral Commission and the eventual winner Hellen Adoa.

Adoa who beat the former FDC secretary General by a margin of 16,111 now says she will consult her lawyers on the next move.

Adoa joins over 15 other NRM legislators who have been thrown out of the 10th Parliament.
