Renowned media personality and actress Anita Fabiola has shared her emotional journey through postpartum depression, a struggle that followed the birth of her twins earlier this year.
In a heartfelt video circulating on social media, Fabiola revealed that she experienced intense sadness, anxiety, and sleepless nights during her recovery period.
“I would cry randomly during the day. I would just sit and a wave of sadness would hit me. It was really the postpartum depression which took a toll on me. I didn’t know what would come next as a new mother,” Fabiola said.
She added that the anxiety became overwhelming — making her constantly fear for her babies’ safety.
“I felt something was wrong with my children all the time. I was constantly checking on them while they were sleeping, touching their chests to see if they were breathing. I went sleepless for nights just sitting close to them,” she explained.
Fabiola, however, expressed gratitude to her mother and close friends for supporting her through the difficult period.
“I’ve been blessed with amazing friends who truly love me, and my mother was there for me throughout. They stood with me during my hardest moments,” she added.
Postpartum depression is a mood disorder that affects new mothers, often causing sadness, anxiety, and fatigue for weeks or even months after childbirth.
