City preacher Pastor Wilson Bugembe has finally addressed the growing public debate surrounding his rare political balance — openly associating with both President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine).
Bugembe, who recently made headlines after blessing President Museveni at a campaign rally in Nansana Municipality, has now explained that his actions are rooted not in politics — but in purpose.
According to the popular pastor, his calling demands neutrality, and choosing sides would go against the very foundation of his ministry.
“A pastor must have no sides and remain neutral. It is an honor to know both candidates. I am actually friends with both of them, and they understand me very well,” Bugembe shared in an interview with a local television station.
He emphasized that his role is to pray for leaders, not promote them — and to serve God before politics.
