The police Mayuge are investigating the murder of a 64 years old woman that occurred on 01/02/2023 at 2100hrs in Nabitu village, Nsango parish, Buwaya subcounty.
The deceased who has been identified as Namulwa Jennifer is alleged to have been attacked with a pestle and panga by her grandson Byansi James who hacked and cut her multiple times from the kitchen when she was preparing supper and died at the scene.
According to police, preliminary investigations indicate that Byansi accused his grandmother was responsible for the demise of his four children hence the attack.
Byansi is detained at CPS Mayuge on murder charges and the body was conveyed to Mayuge health centre four mortuary.
However, residents went on rampage and destroyed his house and gardens.
