The media fraternity in Uganda has petitioned the speaker of parliament on the conduct of hon. Eng. Abraham Byandala.

The famous thieving minister is accused of punching a vision group reporter Judith Nalugwa at the anti-corruption court, during the hearing of his road scam case.

This afternoon, the deputy speaker of parliament Rt. Hon. Jacob Oulanya met a group of journalists who presented their petition seeking the immediate resignation of Byandala.

The development comes after Nalugwa withdrew the case she had filed against the mafia minister without portfolio at Jinja road under unclear circumstances.

However, the group comprised of mainly media women insists they will; not be derailed by the withdrawal of the case, but are looking at the bigger picture.

“Attack on the sexuality of a female worker; we cannot stop imagining if the lady journalist was pregnant, violence against women! Was she pounced on because of her gender?” part of the petition reads.
