Social media has been buzzing recently with adorable photos of Bebe Cool's daughter, Beata Ssali, and Bobi Wine's daughter, Shalom Namagembe, gracing our feeds. As often happens online, some netizens quickly started drawing comparisons between the two lovely young girls.
But one person who is absolutely not here for it is Zuena Kirema, Beata Ssali's mother. The proud mom of five took to X (formerly Twitter) to voice her strong disapproval, making it clear that these pictures were never meant to spark a competition.
Zuena's frustration was palpable as she questioned why Ugandans online seem so eager to tear each other down. She passionately pleaded for an end to the "nonsense of comparing young children."
"It’s so sad how foreigners see Ugandans as welcoming and good people, but we are tearing each other apart from within. Anything that a Ugandan does is always criticized by fellow Ugandans, we just don’t want to see the other doing better. Who told Ugandans that every post one makes is about competition? Today I stand to stop this nonsense of comparing young children. Stop creating unnecessary drama."
She also revealed a heartwarming detail, emphasizing that Beata and Shalom are actually good friends, urging everyone to "stop this immature behavior."
Zuena ended her heartfelt message with a beautiful affirmation to both girls:
"To my lovely daughters Beata and Shalom, you are beautiful and truly loved. Heads high as you keep chasing your goals."
