On Wednesday, the Kenyan Vice President William Ruto joined Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni on his campaign trail in Kapchorwa district.

Throughout the day, Ruto sought support for the Incumbent Ugandan leader who he branded an experienced leader that did not need to do much to earn people’s votes in the 2016 general elections.

But, the visit and Ruto’s words did not go down well with the two East African countries’ citizens, as people took to social media to criticize the Kenyan VP for going into an alliance with a man who has for long refused to hand over power.

A hash tag #SomeonetellRuto was also created on Twitter to show the dissatisfaction about the alliance.

We bring you some of those hilarious tweets;

#SomeoneTellRuto to leave issues of Uganda to Ugandans.

#SomeoneTellRuto it says a whole lot about him to bad mouth @RailaOdinga in the event that he's dinning with m7,a cheap own goal Kabisa.

#SomeoneTellRuto We are sane enough to gauge & choose our own leaders!

#SomeoneTellRuto You spent two years fighting Mwai Kibaki who only ruled for 10yrs, but think a 29yr ruler is the best for Uganda's future?

#SomeOneTellRuto he needs to meet the president in state house not at a rally.

#SomeoneTellRuto to focus on ICC crimes instead of creating more by campaigning for.
