Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) flag bearer Kizza Besigye says he will sell off the UGX88.2 billion Gulfstream V presidential jet upon becoming president.
Besigye, while addressing a rally in Agago, said: “I will auction that aeroplane and inject the money into development programmes in your area.”
The four-time presidential candidate said a lot of money is spent on maintaining the plane and on its staff including pilots and cooks.
The promise is the latest in his campaign that promises cuts in public administration costs.
