After three days of searching for a missing Stuart Bakkabulindi, police have finally recovered his body in a car belonging to his sister.

Bakkabulindi was reported missing on Monday by his sister Rose Nakitto who told police that her deceased brother had requested her car on Saturday but didn't return.

“He told me that he was going to return very fast. I waited for him in vain. His telephone lines were going through but he was not picking up. We became suspicious and we decided to report the matter to the police,” Nakitto said.

The Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, says the deceased was discovered in the said car by locals in Mbalwa village, Bweyogerere.

He says the car was found parked a few meters away from the main road with a  dead person in the behind seat.

“Information emerged that there was a vehicle parked in Mbalwa and a body inside. Upon examination, it was established that it is the person that we were looking for. It is suspected that he could have been murdered inside the vehicle,” Onyango said.

He says police were also able to retrieve Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) footage showing the deceased in the parking lot but it doesn't show any person coming out.

Scene of Crime Officers(SOCOs) who visited the scene found Bakkabulindi lying dead in the behind seat. He neither had a shirt nor shoes and had a wound on the forehead, which raised suspicion that he was probably murdered.

“When he disappeared, the detectives traced his phone but signals indicated that he was within Bweyogerere. The phone was ringing and no one was picking up. We are now analyzing all CCTVs to see whether anyone was seen leaving the scene,” Onyango said.

Nakitto and another relative Benon Kabuye suspect that Bakkabulindi was killed and driven to the spot where his body was found.
