Police in Wakiso are holding six Uganda People's Defence Forces(UPDF) soldiers on allegations of staging an illegal roadblock to steal from locals.
The suspects, all attached to Namusera Army Detach have been identified as Ras Ayume Saidi, Oloboro Julius, Aguma Mathew, Adiya ILKAL, Tambala Stephen and Luyima Siraji.

According to the Uganda Police Spokesperson, Fred Enanga, the suspects were traced using a sniffer dog that led them to the army detach and later charged with robbery.
Enanga says the suspects have been accused of stealing from a local businessman identified as Turahabwa George from an illegal road block they erected at Kyoga Swamp on September 02, 2022.
It is alleged that the suspects attacked Turahabwa at around 10:45 pm, while he was traveling in a Toyota Hilux Double Cabin Pick-up registration number UAS655U, stealing an unspecified amount of cash and mobile phones.
Turahabwa told police that he was stopped by six unarmed men dressed in military-like attire who threatened to kill him if he failed to hand over his valuables.
Enanga says several exhibits have since been recovered in relation to the crime.
