Police in Jinja City are holding a local musician for defiling a 13-year-old girl.
The suspect, Ronald Bamukisa aka Top K, was netted with his victim (names withheld) at a local lodge and bar identified as Green summer in Southern Division on Sunday night.
Eyewitnesses say workers at the lodge reported the matter to police after the suspect attempted to book a room with his victim.
According to the father of the victim, his daughter who was hired by the musician as a dancer at his concert in Kayunga suddenly disappeared with him on Friday.
He claims Bamukisa had contracted other teenage girls to also dance at his concert.
Kira Regional Police spokesperson James Mubi says Bamukisa is currently being held at Jinja central police station on charges of aggravated defilement and kidnap.
He adds that police have since subjected the victim to medical tests.
