Police in Katakala village in Mityana District have put out of action a suspected commander of an Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) terror cell, and arrested two terrorists.
The suspects were captured on Thursday during an operation by security operatives under the Crime Intelligence Directorate.
According to the Police spokesperson, Fred Enanga the deceased commander identified as Sulaiman Bisaso Segawa was killed during a gun exchange while his colleagues including a man and a woman surrendered.
He further explains that the deceased is linked to attacks on various police stations and murders on police officers and civilians.
“Our Crime Intelligence task team conducted a raid on an ADF terror cell, in Katakala village in Mityana District, where its leader was killed during the counter-terrorism operation. Two other ADF terrorists, who included a Medic and a female were arrested after they surrendered.,” Enanga said
In November 2021, three suicide bombers attacked Central Police Station and Parliamentary Avenue in Kampala killing at least 10 people including police officers.
In 2022, police and other security agencies were attacked by suspected terrorists and thugs who stole guns and killed several suspects.
