Vehicle stolen from Katwe recovered in Kasangati

Police officers at Katwe station have recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested five suspects in connection with the theft.

Police officers at Katwe station have recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested five suspects in connection with the theft. 

The vehicle, a white Harrier registration number UAM 252J, was reported missing on Saturday 11th February, 2023 by Kezaala Malik Faizal, an operations manager at Senaca Co Ltd. 

Mr. Kezaala immediately reported the theft to Katwe, where he was advised to enter a case of stealing motor vehicle. 

ASP Luke Owoyesigyire the Deputy PRO KMP say that thanks to a tracking device installed in the vehicle, the police were able to quickly locate it in Kasangati Division in Lutete Zone.

“The vehicle was found with three occupants, who were arrested along with two others in connection with the theft. The arrested individuals include Nabada Agatha, Nyenje Lawrence, Kaweesa Moses, Bukenya Charles, and Senyonga Shaban, they are currently detained at Katwe Police on allegations of theft of a Motor vehicle,” said Owoyesigyire. 

The recovered vehicle is currently parked at Katwe pending handover to the owner, while investigations into the incident continue. 

“We commend the swift action of the Katwe Police led by Oc operations ASP Gwaivu and their dedication to ensuring the safety and security of our community,” he added. 

Owoyesigyire urged all members of the public to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activities to the authorities for prompt response.
